What is the Adapet pet CGM?
Adapet is a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system for diabetic dogs and cats, made by Adapet Medical and used under veterinary supervision. It has three parts: a small wearable glucose sensor applied by the veterinary clinic, the Adapet Owner App on the pet owner’s phone, and the Adapet Vet Portal where the clinic reviews the glucose trend between visits. It replaces spot checks and in-clinic glucose curves with a continuous trace.
Which animals does the Adapet CGM work for?
Adapet is designed for dogs and cats with diabetes. It is placed by a veterinarian at the clinic and is intended for pets under a veterinarian’s care; it is not a human device and is not sold for use on people.
How long does one Adapet sensor last?
The sensor’s lifespan is 14 days, with an average wear time of 9 days on a pet. Lifespan is how long the sensor’s battery lasts; wear time is how long it stays on an individual pet, which depends on fur regrowth, placement over high-movement areas, adhesive lifting, and more. The clinic decides when the sensor is replaced, and a new sensor is applied at the clinic when the wear period ends or the sensor comes off early.
How is the sensor applied, and does my pet need sedation?
The veterinary clinic applies the sensor to the pet’s skin in roughly a 5-minute procedure, with no sedation needed. After placement there are no further needle sticks for the wear period; readings are taken automatically.
How does the glucose data reach my phone and my veterinarian?
The sensor sends readings wirelessly over Bluetooth to the Adapet Owner App on the pet owner’s phone, and the app relays them to the clinic’s Vet Portal. With the Complete Package, the AdaPod hub also receives the sensor data and tracks the pet’s activity automatically, so readings are collected even when the phone is not nearby. The pet owner sees the trend in the app; the veterinarian reviews the same data in the Vet Portal.
What is the difference between the Complete Package and the Essential Package?
The Essential Package is the CGM-only system: 4 CGM sensors (each up to 14 days), direct Bluetooth connection to the owner’s smartphone, real-time glucose monitoring, full Vet Portal access for the clinic, and owner app access. The Complete Package adds the AdaPod system: 4 CGM sensors plus 4 Smart Pods, a reusable connectivity hub with automatic activity tracking, on top of the same Vet Portal and owner app access. Clinics that only need glucose choose Essential; clinics that also want activity data and a hub choose Complete.
Can a pet owner buy the Adapet CGM directly?
No. Adapet is sold to veterinary clinics, not directly to pet owners. The clinic creates a verified clinic account, orders the sensors, and applies the sensor to the pet. If your veterinarian does not offer Adapet yet, you can send them information from the For Pet Owners page, or use Find a Clinic to locate a veterinary hospital near you that already uses Adapet.
How much does the Adapet pet CGM cost?
Adapet does not publish list prices on the public website. Pricing is shown inside the Shop to verified veterinary clinic accounts after clinic verification, and a clinic can request a quote from the sales team at info@adapetmedical.com or 1-888-444-2618. Pet owners get the cost from their veterinary clinic, which sets its own fee for the sensor and the monitoring service.

The First Case Program is the guided way to start: the Adapet team helps the clinic run its first diabetic dog or cat on the CGM, with a team member available for the 5-minute sensor application and an owner willing to use the Adapet app, and sets up the clinic account for ongoing sensor orders and support.
Does the Adapet CGM replace visits to the veterinarian?
No. Adapet is a veterinarian-led system: the clinic prescribes the treatment and reviews the glucose data, and the CGM gives the veterinarian continuous visibility between visits. Nothing on this website replaces veterinary medical advice; treatment and dosing decisions stay with your veterinarian.
Which phones work with the Adapet Owner App?
The Adapet Owner App is available for iPhone and Android phones. The phone needs Bluetooth to receive sensor readings and an internet connection to relay them to the clinic’s Vet Portal. Pet owners install the app when their clinic starts the pet on a sensor.
